JULIE GRIFFITHS
With more than 30 years of political campaign experience across the United States, Julie Griffiths is one of the premier political grassroots consultants in the nation. Julie has also served as a Senior Consultant, Strategist and Campaign Manager for some stunning candidate victories in the most hard-fought campaigns in recent memory.
Julie has served some of California and the nation’s most prominent corporations and trade associations on a variety of issue advocacy and public relations efforts. Prior to founding GOCO, Julie served as District Director and Senior Advisor to the former Assembly Minority Leader and directed the member-services division of the Assembly Republican Caucus.
Since founding GOCO with partners Paul and Joel Olson, Julie has helped orchestrate field campaigns across California and the nation, most recently conducting successful statewide operations in Louisiana and Michigan among other regional campaigns.
Ground and field operations require intense organization. Since GOCO’s inception Julie has helped build an infrastructure that professionally employs hundreds of canvassers in multiple campaigns while maintaining effective training and strict oversight.
Julie has a BA in Mathematics from University of Washington. She enjoys reading, cooking and playing card games in her free time.
PAUL AND JOEL OLSON
Brothers Paul and Joel have nearly 20 years of experience creating and managing cutting-edge voter contact, ballot initiative, and grassroots advocacy campaigns in multiple states. In addition to working directly with candidates, they’ve run successful campaigns for independent expenditure committees and for corporate clients. They are known for their ability to win tough campaigns, including one in which the Republican candidate won in a district where Democrats held a 22-point registration advantage.
Considered experts in the ballot initiative and referendum process, Paul and Joel specialize in advocating for and qualifying land use measures. Their long list of clients includes the San Francisco Forty-Niners, San Francisco Giants, Pardee Homes, Pulte Homes, Chevron and Bay 101 Casino.
JAMES LEE
As Senior Vice President at GOCO Consulting, James has more than 15 years of experience in government and politics, serving roles in communications strategy, press relations, opposition research, and campaign operations.
James has held appointment and staff positions in California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Administration, the California State Senate, and the California State Assembly. His political campaign work includes California gubernatorial campaigns and targeted campaigns for state legislative offices.
Immediately before working with GOCO Consulting, James was the Communications Director for a California state senator and the Marketing Director for his family’s small business.
With GOCO Consulting, James works in launching, scaling-up, and managing canvassing operations for both political and corporate clients. Previous projects include candidate and ballot initiative campaigns in states such as California, Louisiana, Michigan, and Texas.
James received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He currently resides in the Sacramento region and his hobbies include running, swimming, and reading non-fiction.
